Baked potato bar

Today we served a baked potato with all of the imaginable toppings. Cheese sauce, steamed broccoli, sauteed mushrooms, carmelized onions and salsa are all offered. Sour cream is offered as well.
So many of the students like their potato with all of the veggies. Grapes were served on the fruit bar.

hot dog

Today we served hot dogs because we had to serve cookies for grand friends day.
 900 cookies were served to students and friends today.  Wow what a turn out.

potato cheese soup

Today we served broccoli potato cheese soup. This is the last time we will serve potato cheese soup this year.  Fresh tomato soup is the only soup that we serve in warmer weather just because it goes so well with grilled cheese.  I look forward to enjoying this soup in the fall.

Pasta with brie and tomatoes

This dish is so easy.  Saute chopped garlic in a bit of olive oil add lots of diced fresh tomatoes and chopped fresh basil.  Let this mixture simmer and then sparingly cover this mixture with sliced brie cheese, let the cheese melt a bit and then add to your favorite cooked pasta.
At McGillis we use bow tie pasta.  Toasted pine nuts are always offered as a topping. Yum.

Today was family group lunch Monday. The featured sandwich was egg salad. Most people either love or hate egg salad, so we always offer options. Besides the featured sandwich optional sandwiches  are pbj, turkey, or cheddar cheese.  Baked potato chips and apple slices were available as well as juice.
